"Falls are a leading cause of injury for older adults, and in Missouri the impact is especially severe. According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, each year, falls lead to more than 39,000 emergency visits and over 13,000 hospitalizations among people 65 and older," said Juliet Simone, chief program officer at St. Louis Oasis. "Thanks to Essence Healthcare's support, we can bring proven, evidence-based programs into neighborhoods at no cost, helping more older adults stay active, safe and connected."
"At Essence Healthcare, our focus goes beyond coverage to supporting programs that keep older adults safe and independent," said Jordan Reigel, president of Essence Healthcare. "Partnering with Oasis will help reduce preventable injuries and give older adults more confidence to stay healthy and active in their communities."
This partnership is part of Essence Healthcare's broader commitment to St. Louis. The company recently announced a partnership with Aging Ahead to expand meal services for older adults. In May 2025, Essence donated $100,000 to the United Way of Greater St. Louis and mobilized employees to support tornado disaster recovery efforts through volunteer service.
