Essence St. Louis Part D Medicare Prescription Drug Plan
2008 Essence Part D
If you are a member of Essence, you will automatically get Medicare prescription drug coverage from Essence if you do nothing to change your Medicare coverage. The following describes our prescription drug coverage beginning in January 2008.
Essence Standard Prescription Drug Benefit 2008
Brand-name and generic prescriptions:
- Up to $3,000 per year for brand-name and generic prescriptions (or more if catastrophic coverage kicks in)
- $0 deductible per year
- NO monthly drug plan premium
- LOW drug copays
Essence Enhanced Prescription Drug Benefit 2008
Brand-name and generic prescriptions:
- Coverage of generics through coverage gap
- $0 deductible per year
- $57.00 monthly plan premium
- LOW drug copays
Starting January 1, 2008, the monthly premium that you pay to Essence in the Standard Plan will stay the same - at ZERO. In the Enhanced Plan, the monthly premium is $57.00. This monthly premium includes your Medicare prescription drug coverage (See charts above). If you have limited income and resources, you may qualify for "extra help" with your Medicare prescription drug plan costs. See Extra Help on this website.
Medicare has reviewed and approved the changes in benefits, premiums, and other costs included on this page and on the Summary of Benefits. All the changes begin January 1, 2008, and will be in effect through December 31, 2008. Rest assured that you will be a member of Essence for the coming year if you do nothing to change your Medicare coverage.
Your enrollment in this Plan does not affect Medicare coverage for drugs covered under Medicare Part A or Part B. If you meet Medicare's coverage requirements, your drugs will still be covered under Medicare Part A or Part B even though you are enrolled in Essence. See your Medicare & You Handbook for more information about drugs that are covered by Medicare Part A and Part B.
Note: If you join another Medicare plan, including a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, you will be disenrolled from our plan when your enrollment in the new plan begins.
